About Me

About Me
My name is Elaine White and I am a professionally educated psychotherapist with a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy. who recognises the value of developing a warm and collaborative therapeutic relationship. I have previous experience working as a psychotherapist in a low-cost counselling service in Tallaght in addition to doing my clinical placement in DCU with the student counselling services. I participate in regular continuous professional development and clinical supervision which keeps me informed and up to date in this fast-moving industry.
As a mum of four young adults and my own life’s struggles, I value and appreciate lifelong learning and continually strive to pursue both personal and professional development. I am extremely passionate about working in the area of mental health, providing an individual experience to my clients whereby, I hope to make a positive difference to the lives of the people that come into my therapy room. I believe that when someone shows courage, strength, and determination to speak about their mental health and life & difficulties, they need to be met where they are at, in a non- judgemental environment and to be given the space and time they require.
“Like the sea , our minds can be calm one moment and stormy the next. Therapy teaches us to find stability amidst the waves”
My Approach
The psychotherapeutic approach I use is rooted in evidence-based practices and based on an integrative model of therapy with a focus on Humanistic, Psychoanalytical & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I include some third wave approaches, such as Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy. I always find the most suitable approach is the approach that the client naturally gravitates towards.
Due to my knowledge and passion in health and fitness and with a particular interest in neuroscience and mind-body connection, I also incorporate holistic approaches into my practice. I am dedicated to helping clients achieve balance and fulfilment in their lives by addressing both mental and physical health presenting issues and concerns.
Therapeutic services include: ADHD, Anxiety, Autism-Informed Therapy, Depression, Disordered Eating, Grief, Low self-esteem, Neurodiversity, Parental Issues, Personal Development, PTSD, Relationship Issues, Self-care, Self- harm, Sexuality Issues, Somatics, Suicide Ideation, Trauma, Women’s Issues
